Hello- I have been diagnosed with panic attacks, gad, and major depression. I was prescribed zoloft and klonopin. I was unable to continue with zoloft due to weight gain and rls worsening. I did take them 2 1/2 yrs. I was able to stick with a low dose,.50mg at night only, of klonopin while on zoloft, however, since discontinueing zoloft, I am starting to get into my gad state. For now, I have conquered my depression and panic attacks. It's just the intense scrutiny into the problems of daily life that is getting me. I see my psychaitrist next month and was thinking of asking to increase Klonopin. When I mentioned this to my new family doctor recently, he was totally against it, but did agree that I am taking a very small amount. I just would like to know if going up in dosage will really help with gad? Ive tried taking more, a time or 2, but you need a longer trial.Ive always felt with klonopin that Ive had to take the lowest dose possible-guilt maybe? I worry about running out of it,getting hooked, having to withdraw ending up in detox somewhere-gad kicking in? But I want to stop worrying, I want to be the way I was with zoloft on board but that is not a long term med for me. Please advise. Thanks!
