I am a 58 year old successful male but with significant dysthymia/depression since childhood, and with anxiety since early adulthood (but not so bad anymore).
I experienced 100% remission with nardil in my 30s, but it eventually pooped out. After numerous years on nothing, a few months ago I started Effexor 150 mg once daily, and I get partial remission- but no help at all with motivation or pleasure. I would like to try supplementing Effexor, first with Deplin and, if that doesn't work, then with a low dose of extended release adderal or vyvanse or other stimulant (which I know would help since I tried vyvanse with effexor for a few days and it was helpful).
Trouble is, my current psychiatrist will not consider any augmentation besides wellbutrin (which I tried without success a couple of years ago).
Does anyone know of a more enlightened psych in southern NH (Manchester-Nashua area)?
Thanks in advance.
