I saw my doctor today and explained that I was becoming frustrated with my slow rate of recovery. I did not ask for any changes to be made to my treatment regime, but he seemed equally frustrated. He has seen Latuda exert antidepressant effects without the weight gain and metabolic abnormalities often seen with Abilify. Cognition remains significantly impaired, but it has been improving along with other symptoms of depression. The bottom line is that I want to feel better faster if this is at all possible. It just may be that my brain has been depressed for too long to expect it to respond more quickly to treatment. I thought that Latuda might be worth a shot, though. It is a 5-HT1a partial agonist and potent 5-HT7 antagonist, among its other properties. It has been observed to be energizing.

Some see things as they are and ask why.
I dream of things that never were and ask why not.
