Or maybe biology? (teasing, z) Your stomach acid is at a pH of around 2. Soda is somewhere around 5.

The only limitations would be for meds that require that they be taken on an empty stomach. And if you put milk or cream in your coffee, you may inhibit things slightly. But otherwise, it's not an issue.
