Problems with Sedation and now need surgery

Posted by Fergie on June 14, 2011, at 21:04:05

Years ago, I had wisdom teeth surgically removed under conscious sedation (?). The surgeon later said that I should not opt for sedation in the future because I had a "psychotic episode." Seems I tried to jump out a window in the 18th floor office!

Now I have to have wrist surgery. I am panic stricken. The VERY LAST thing I want to happen is me jumping and jerking while he's working inside my wrist!!!!!!! I MUCH PREFER general anesthesia.

Is this a legitimate concern, and do I have the "right" as a patient to demand general?
