Pristiq's ratio is slightly more adrenergic than Effexor, but mostly serotonergic. It also does not block the dopamine transporter like high doses of venlaxfaxine, that appears to be a function of the parent molecule or perhaps another metabolite. Also it only has 2 doses for better or for worse. Personally it works to keep feelings of despair at bay. I haven't taken Effexor, so I can't make a comparison. For me has less side effects than prozac, lexapro, and cymbalta.
Complaints: post-SSRI problems: anhedonia, memory and concentration problems, sexual anhedonia. )
