In reply to Neurontin VS Lyrica (Efficacy and SEffects), posted by tepi on May 17, 2011, at 20:18:58
Hi tepi,
I've mentioned that I haven't tried neurontin, but I did a trial of lyrica.
The effects on my thinking, behavior, and, motor functioning were very negative. This is my own experience, right? Still, I do want to share it with you.
I trialed it for pain. Yes, I did less xanax. But my doctors said I was slurring my words. This was on a low dose, too. One asked if I was intoxicated. As a person
with SA, I found that particularly mortifying. (I don't drink or smoke.) I tried it for six weeks. My driving ability was impaired, too. Please be careful if you switch. I don't think lyrica is equal but stronger. So if
you trial, just be alert, o.k.?I wish I could offer you more optimistic words about Lyrica. Maybe someone here has had a better experience?
Have you ever tried askapatient.com? Could be worthwhile Googling it to see if there are positive reports.
I wish you well.
