Lithium is pretty fascinating, I only started looking at it (after moving it to the bottom of the mood stabilizer list years ago) in response to the fairly new research regarding its neurotrophic properties, as I think my hippocampus is sorely atrophied. But now I wish I could go back in time and try it as monotherapy before ever touching an AD, though it's too early to say I've found my mood stabilizer. Oh well.
