Has anyone had experience going to a pain clinic? Would you post or write me?
I would love to hear from anyone who has gone through a similar process--what was helpful, what to avoid, tips on working well with a pain management team or provider, how you did or did not arrive at working strategies....
I want to avoid pointless involvement with more medical professionals. I have access to a nearby university clinic....
Being examined, questioned, maintaining hope--it's tough on me--just to leave with the same information I knew going in. And if I say too much, well, at times that itself seems held against me, like, 'hey how do you know so much anyways?'
I've tapered practically off norco only to have my gp reinstate it. So much for all my good work! I need some guidance AND confidence in whatever I do.
Remember the old StarTrek? How Dr. McCoy would say things like, "I'm a doctor, Jim, not an elevator!"
Well, darn it, I'm a mom and ex-lit major,
not a doctor!I know this isn't exactly psych meds, but pain, depression & psychology are entwined for me.
Thank you, and have a good (enough)
weekend!fb
