Bob, this reminded me of what I heard somewhere about being an Olympic athlete. They may not and perhaps are almost certainly not *the* best in their field. They can, however, perform under intense pressure that would usually completely crumple most people. I have trouble crossing a room at a party or getting up to throw Kleenex into the waste paper basket of my shrink's office.
Think of the barefoot runners of North America pre-discovery (used ironically) or today. No medals to show, though.
I like to think the world needs us all, somehow.
Of course, I need that written on my hand to be able to remember it.
(Especially lately, stuck in bed off and on all day, awake w/ insomnia at night. Grrrr.)
