Dealing with brain fog from Clonazepam/Klonopin

Posted by QuintiStar on April 4, 2011, at 11:54:51

Hey guys, new to the board.

I've recently started taking Clonazepam because of my overly stressful job. Though I've been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder a long time ago, I've mostly been able to handle it myself through dosages of 10-20 mg of Lexapro and not having a completely stressful job. This new job I'm at is freaking me out, and I'm pretty much ready to leave it, but I need it to pay my bills, so I'm staying until I find something better. To deal with the job, I've been taking Clonazepam, but it's been causing this really annoying brain fog whenever I take it that somewhat affects my ability to work. I can't concentrate 100% on a task because of it, even though it provides me relief from my anxiety.

Is there any way to lessen the effects of it? Will it get better if I keep taking it (0.5 mg 1x a day, very small dosage). Or is it just a side effect of the Clonazepam?

Just wondering, let me know, thanks!
