I took paxil for 13 or so years and because I didn't take it for depression it just made a set of symptoms go away (head squeezing/pressure). So I just still felt like the "normal me" until I tried to go off of it. The first few times I tried going off of it I pretty quickly went back on because of the irritability/anxiety/negativity and I was as good as before. The last time I did this I tried this over a 7 month period and battled through emotional lability, crying spells, negativity, pessimism. Just not me at all. But I stuck with it thinking it would go away. But once again I threw in the towel because I just couldn't take feeling so emotionally and mentally down. But.... this time it didn't work as in I didn't go back to my "normal me". I was stuck with the negative crap of the withdrawl. It was just lessened to some extent.
My question is??? Because I did so well on paxil for lots of years, no weight gain, no flat or zombie like feeling - what can I take to get that back? I'm still on paxil 20mg. and of course it's just keeping me from going into withdrawls. I'm also on Nortriptyline and have had little success.
I seem to need what an SSRI did for me. But paxil ain't gonna do it anymore.
I would love to hear any and all inquiries.
Thanks so much!

Have taken paxil for 13 years. Is no longer working. My own diagnosis is depression. Have tried Lamictal, Wellbutrin and Now Zoloft all with the 10mg. paxil.
