Hi Kate,
I'm am still in Asia, but in a different country. I'm still looking for work, but am confident I'll find something soon. Once I can make money and actually spend it wisely, I will feel like I have completed my recovery, and can focus on maintenance while building up a new healthy, happy life.
I haven't tried to find a pdoc here just yet, but my old doctor gave me another 3-month prescription before I left. She also wrote a letter explaining my diagnosis and prescriptions.
Depending on the cost, I hope I can just get my meds locally. It's still a bit of a pain having them forwarded overseas, but at least I have someone to do that for me.
In terms of my bipolar depression, if that is what it is, I just take my meds and try to eat well and exercise daily. Neglecting those two can completely override any amount of meds, leading to fatigue and depression. Of course my meds are doing something, as I can bounce back from a bad day as easily as anyone else can, I think. In the meantime, I just need to relaxxxx and stop taking things so seriously. This is where the psychological aspects of long-term mental illness need to be identified, understood, and slowly changed.
Best of luck.
