I was disappointed to see that. I'm running out of options, though. At least it seems that way. I am hoping that lurasidone won't be too bad as its DA actions seem to be concentrated in the frontal cortex rather than the striatum. Lurasidone showed some antidepressant effects on rats (they always get the good stuff).
I am not at my worst. Adding back Abilify helped. I am also using caffeinated coffee strategically to try to maximize my mental and physical energy. I am actually surprised at how much improved I am at this point. The thing is, if I drink even 1/4 cup of coffee too much, I experience a paradoxical decrease in energy and mood. On a daily basis, I must tweak the dosage amount and dose timing to get the best effect. I seem to have a very narrow therapeutic window for caffeine and any other stimulating xanthines that coffee may possess.
Thanks for your feedback. Your identifying the D2 antagonism as a draw back of lurasidone was helpful. If I decide to try this drug, I won't give it any more than two weeks. The antidepressant effects of antipsychotics often occur within the first week. I guess I'll just have to take it one day at a time and make decisions on the fly.

I dream of things that never were and ask why not.
