I take zyprexa and perphenazine. Never taking seroquel. I take wellbutrin sr for the sedation. I think ritalin is over kill. But who no's. I actualy like the sedation side effect. Its calming and takes away anger and anxiety, and racing thoughts, urge to drink, and for some reason it makes my thoughts more normal. I tried abilify and it just made my anxiety worse, could not sleep, thoughts were very parnoid, and I was mad at the world, thought people were out to get me. I also took geodon for a while it didn't make me more anxious but didn't help it. It also made me angry a lot, very paronoid, and people were concerned a lot about my mental state, this is when I started drinking a lot more. and got into pot again, obviously to calm down. I never in the past when I started the zyprexa it made me want to quit pot that was several years earlyer. Perpehnazine is similar in a way to zyprexa, but does not make you hungry. So that is my suggestion. I have heard that Seroquel is more sedating that zyprexa. And zyprexa has been a life saver for me. You also might try that. I guess the best suggestion is to try them all. Or look at what you are trying to treat and try to decide which fills your needs best. If seroqel is helping you now, you might need some thing sedating, just a guess. But if you are trying to get away from sedation and are not worryed about anxiety, you could go with abilify. I didn't find abilify, geodon, risperdal to be benifishial in the schitzo spectrum. But found that abilify was a nice antidepressant. Geodon didn't do much of anything, just was not as harsh as abilify. Risperdal helped me holucinate at the TV and made me hungry.
