The voices that were distracting me are getting less distracting. Part of the reason, I think, is that I'm visiting family and I realize now that the small town that terrorized me for so long has moved on in my absence; maybe they have a new person/people to talk about.
Part of it is medication. I'm taking 35mgs/day abilify for 2 weeks, then back down to 30. My doctor also added in 20mgs/day celexa. I feel calmer and, like I said, the voices are less of a problem.
Question is...should I be medicating this? My therapist wants to explore some of what the voices have been saying. My psychiatrist medicated me w/o even asking any questions about what I wanted to do; he just went to medicatin', which I guess is how shrinks (particularly old school ones) operate.
Am I doing the right thing by following doctor's orders? I'm not a crazy cocktail or anything, but still...I wonder...
Thanks in advance.
