Hello. Perhaps some parnate users can assist me here since non of my doc seem to be specialists in prescribing it. I'm pretty desperate for some answers.
I have been on parnate for over 4 years and although it was an exceedingly difficult drug to acclimate to, it has been very effective in treating my depression. Unfortunately, I've also been diagnosed w/ fibromyalgia + chronic fatigue syndrome. The pain started before I began parnate - tho is has gotten steadily worse - and the fatigue really kicked in about a year after. My main concern is that I hit a wall super fast and hard every evening around 4 - 6pm, and am typically relegated to my bed by around then. I have debilitating fatigue + flu-like symptoms. I literally can't keep my head up. I just tested positive for neurally mediated hypotension through the use of a "tilt table test," and suspect that this may be the reason why I've felt so ill for the past several years.
I have a suspicion that parnate may be to blame for this condition - it is known to cause orthostatic hypotension, and indeed I did feel faint regularly when I first started it. Obviously it's no easy task to stop taking it to "test" this variable, and the last thing I need right now is to spiral into a depressive episode. So, I'm wondering if anyone can relate? Parnate users/experts do you think this drug may be to blame for my neurally mediated hypotension and subsequent fatigue?
Any advice would be so greatly appreciated!
