I read Undercurrents and remember that line. It's a great book. Unfortunately. ECT didn't really work for me. It is true, as Kitty Dukakis's book points out (it's cowritten with a guy who actually did a ton of research on ECT), that most people do continue to go in every 2-3 months for maintenance treatments. I know when I had ECT, this is what the p-doc planned to do once the initial 12 sessions were over, assuming it worked.
