I have read that there are several different forms of depression. However, I am not quite sure which type I may have.
My depression manifests itself in low, melancholic, tearful, moods of feeling sorry for myself and particularly other people. Motivationally, I seem to be reasonably OK. My energy levels aren't too bad either. I can get up in a morning and do things, it's just that I suffer from terrible low, melancholic, moods.
I also get fairly severe panic disorder, social phobia and GAD.
I've tried all of the SSRIs (apart from Citalopram - took Escitalopram instead), Effexor, Cymbalta, Valdoxan, lithium, busprione, Lyrica, amitriptyline, Stelazine, haloperidol, Zyprexa, Seroquel, promazine, propranolol, as well as several different benzos. I've taken all of the above alone or as varying combinations.
Can anyone tell me what sort of depression is it that I have, along with what the best drug treatments are for my particular type?? I seemed to do well a while back on Zyprexa; however, I did suffer from fairly bad side effects, so my p/doc took me off the drug.
