Help needed; Wellbutrin/ Parnate washout

Posted by kirbyw on October 18, 2010, at 17:26:42

I was off of Parnate for 3-4 months and in the past two weeks I have been hard by depression that seems very disproportionate to real life events. Its very difficult. So I went to a P-Doc who recommended Wellbutrin, partially due to my own insistence that i would like to try something other than Parnate, due some undesirable side effects of Parnate (blood pressure, sexual side effects, etc) So he recommended Wellbutrin. I have just 5 days on Wellbutrin but I have realized that this is a more severe depression and that before it gets worse I need to get back on Parnate, side effects or not. So how long do I need before starting Parnate again? The P-doc had said something about 7 days but I have actually seen references to people who have used wellbutrin WITH Parnate simultaneously, I think.

So input is welcome. I just don't see going through this and waiting to see if wellbutrin will work, when I know that Parnate can have some impact even in just two or three days.
