In reply to Buprenorphine (Subutex) is very effective + safe, posted by John45 on September 22, 2010, at 20:44:03
Never tried buprenorphine. Vicadin completely restores me to normal without any euphoria or high. I rarely use it for fear of the slippery slope, but it is a great emergency med.
LDN had modest antidepressant action. This is also a sort of opioid strategy.
DLPA modestly helpful. Also in the opioid arena.
I have a few theories:
1. Toxins have a high affinity for opioid receptors. Opioid substances competitively displace those toxins. Toxins include aluminum, cadmium, lead, mercury, and the poop and pee of infectious pathogens (lyme, mycoplasma, candida, etc).
2. While a normal person might be raised from normal to high on an opioid, the same lift brings a depressed patient from depression up to normal.
3. The endogenous opioid system is weak. Psychiatry is all about serotonin, NE, and DA being weak...but what about the opioids? Totally ignored. Why all the hoopla on the other three I don't know.
