But, they still want you to take your SSRI, so they get their money. They don't want you treating depression on your own because it could be risky? Or because if you find relief on your own, you don't need the psychiatrist?
I think they should have compared SAMe augmentation of an SSRI vs. simply SAMe alone.
That way you would get a better idea of which medication is helping. Perhaps those who responded to SAMe augmentation would have responded to SAMe monotherapy. Of course they're not interested however, in demonstrating that.
