I've been on the Lith for 15 years now, at exactly the same dose (600 mg twice a day) and blood level (0.6).
I take generic lithium carbonate and one of my shrinks once told me it was OK to take my whole dose at night. What an idiot he was. Not only was I on the verge of hypomania, I had awful dehrydration issues while I slept.
Even Lithobid - whose name I gather is derived from the shorthand "bid" for "twice daily" - is meant to be taken twice a day. I once found delightfully retro magazine ad for Lithobid from the 1970's which said exactly that.
From what I understand, Lithium's half life is 24 hours and of course there are no metabolites.
