I am not saying that drugs are side-effect free--it seems the better the drug, the worse the side effects--it's a payoff. The meds are not an easy fix and will not help at all without the active participation of the patient--this is all I am trying to say. Of course, when I commented, I was referring to depression/anxiety and so we really might not be talking about the same thing--Schizophrenia is a complex and poorly understood disease. Anyhow, in regards to depression, I'll take night sweats and a decrease in libido over despondent living. Just in my opinion.

I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean by that. If you could post answers to the following, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
A. What actions could a patient take to be considerd to be {active participation}?
B. How could those actions help?
C. other answers to questions not stated
