In reply to Seroquel XR - muscle soreness, weird feeling?, posted by displaced9 on July 26, 2010, at 19:19:14
I had muscle stiffness off of old school seroquel. Antipsychotics in general can do this. As for the sped up feeling...all I can think is that its some sort of either start-up agitation or low-level akathisia (inner sense of restlessness and unease, relatively common with antipsychotics).
I can't tell you if its normal or not; psychiatric drugs can produce all kinds of unusual feelings in different people. Is it tolerable? If you can tolerate it and you're benefiting from the medication, then I'd say stick with it. Otherwise, maybe see if your doc can switch you or give you something. Benadryl taken with the seroquel at night might help the muscle stiffness, but...I'm not a doc, so don't take any without consulting a real MD.
