> -d/rCongrats on the job, I have a high tolerance to benzos, I found I had to use a high dose of Ativan for relief of anxiety though, 5mg. Because it's so short acting like Xanax, I found Xanax worked better and I didn't have to take as much. 1-2mg instead and they are relatively equal in does strength. Xanax is also the only benzo that has antidepressant/mood elevating properties for me, Ativan didn't and once I found a dose that worked for me. It did make me a little dumb.
You also have the option of long acting benzo's like valium and clonazepam which you can take once a day. Pop one at night and you're covered all the next day unless you need something to ware off quickly. Picking the right benzo can take time.
As an above poster mentioned above long acting hypnotics also keep you covered for anxiety the next day too. I found nitrazepam the best for that.
