hey there..
I thought I was just gonna let you know that a new drug is about to enter phase II trials soon. and by "new" I really mean new, not another form of 5HT reuptake or something, it's an actual NMDAr antagonist, resulting from a collaboration between EvoTec Germany and Roche Switzerland. seriously, what could be a higher quality product than german (bio)engineering combined with swiss craftsmanship and precision? ;-)
here is an info from the evotec site:
http://www.evotec.com/article/en/Pipeline/Clinical/EVT-101-103/11/4/6also, I was wondering whether there might be information on clinical trials online, and voilà:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01128452too bad that the first clinical trials of a european invention are entering trials in the US only..no but seriously, they have 9 testing sites all across the US, so if one of you is really interested, print it out and show it to your doc, apparently they'll start enrolling patients in the second half of 2010.. I guess the difficult thing is that they seek patients with no more than three failed treatment regimes, and some here are well above that. anyway, I don't even know whether anyone of you would consider doing phase II trials, it's quite risky after all, but I was just gonna let you know..
the agent also goes under a name beginning with RO for roche, don't find the exact number right now, there are also trials listed under that name..
