> I have read conflicting information, and realize it's somewhat personal as to what can be tolerated. I'm on Parnate. I'm curious to know if other members eat or have to avoid these things: caffeine, pizza, plain yogurt, sardines. And I know cheddar cheese is out--is something like Monterey Jack cheese safe? How about raw milk? Thank you, Teresa
Hi there, I take 100 mg of Parnate a day and I have been lucky as far as being able to eat stuff that I am not supposed to eat such as cheddar cheese and red wine.
I know that other members have said that Monterey Jack is ok. Pizza is okay as long as it's Mozerella cheese. Plain yoghurt is fine as well. I don't know about sardines because that is not something I would eat. Caffeine is okay as well as long as it doesn't give you a headache. So if you were to have a reaction to any foods the first you would feel would be a headache at the base of your neck. At that point take the whatever emergency med your doctor has prescribe ( I use Thorazine) and don't eat that food again. I've had a couple of hypertensive crises. One from HOMEMADE red wine (I am fine with store bought) and soy sauce. I didn't need to go to the hospital.
I hope this helps.
