The rub of long-term use of these types of boards is loss of objectivity, critical thinking and discernment. Putting "givens" on things that have no "given" and assuming absolutes in each and every situation for each and every person. It doesn't happen with a huge number of posters but is a risk. I am begining to believe THAT trait can be a pathology in and of itself. It has happened on this board, IMO.
