I've done switch overs many times with SSRI's. If you had to completely withdraw from Paxil without having another SSRI to switch over to, you would have to do a slow taper. However, as you have started Zoloft, you should be able to stop taking the Paxil. If you feel some discontinuation symptoms, just take a very small amount of Paxil for another two or three days, then stop.
Zoloft was my favourite med. I hope you do well on it.
