Hi Michael,
First time on the board for a while. Saw your note. Just had to have a hip replaced due to bone on bone arthritis. So I've been off Nardil for 4 weeks. Another example how short term opioids work for my depression. 5mg oxycodone about 6 times a day does the job. Cutting back now to 3 per day and can feel the twinges of depression returning. I knew it was just short term anyway! I may use this washout to try anything new. Suggestions from anyone for treatment resistant, double, atypical depression with social anxiety would be appreciated. 45+ different combinations in the past haven't worked, so I'll probably be back on Nardil!(Off Subject) I actually had what they call a Birmingham Hip Resurfacing, not a Total Hip Replacement. They conserve the neck and most of the femoral head, which makes revision easier down the road if necessary. It is used mostly on younger, more active patients that will wear out the components of a THR. This thing is a cobalt/chromium metal on metal joint. If it works, I'll be a happy camper. Three weeks out and I'm walking pretty good. It's only been FDA approved in the US since 2006, but my surgeon trained on earlier models and has done 1500 of the operations. It is more technical than a THR because there is less room to position the acetabular component. Anyone want pics of the device or more info, just Babble-mail me.
Anyway Michael, I'll try to check Psycho-Babble daily if you have any questions that my limited knowledge can help with.
Take care,
Jedi
