Hi All,

I've been maintaining radio silence since the whole Twitter/Facebook debacle, but occasionally lurk. I saw this thread and decided to weigh in with my anecdotal (n of 1) input. Well, actually, n of 2 or 3 as a couple of my friends have also done well on it.

Lamictal combined with Abilify has given me a few years now of relative stability and relief from uniploar depression - far longer than any AD ever did. Lamictal was partly helpful and it took a while to settle in on Abilify as the best option for an add-on. When I have tried to discontinue either, I have worsened.

When I first started it, I noticed some irritability with dose increases, but that always cleared up.

I have not read the studies on Lamictal - I understand the importance of well-executed experiments but simply don't have time to read the lit. Obviously not every drug will work well for everyone (and some will work out horribly for some people), but I believe my pdoc when she says she's had good success with it.
