> I have not gone back on Lamictal, and I hesitate to. I have been on so many over the years...Emsam worked remarkably well if not for the skin irritation from the patch itself. I tried many tricks, but none worked and I ended up looking like a patchwork quilt. Does anyone know of a trick?
Sorry, I don't have any suggestions, the patch (9mg) leaves big red marks on my skin and itches sometimes but I just alternate 2 or 3 different spots... probably not very healthy for those patches of skin but the marks usually fade enough within 24 - 48 hours for me. It's definitely annoying but if Emsam ends up working I'm willing to put up with it. Out of curiosity what tricks did you try? If the medication was working well but you just didn't like the patch, have you considered trying the oral form of the medication, selegiline? I'm not sure if it would work exactly the same but if I were you I would give that a try, if your pdoc will prescribe it.
