When i went off Paxil i did a direct switch to Lexapro + Risperdal...This was done during a hospitalization and my condition improved dramatically within a few days...I took Paxil for about a month and that drug just did not agree with me (hence i ended up in the hospital)...

Just make sure you are working with a doc and aren't trying to do this on your own...I've gone that route before and the results weren't good...I always try and remember during a med change or a dosage adjustment that i just need to get through a few days until my body learns what to do with the new chemicals (or lack of the old ones)...that's pretty hard to remember when you are feeling really bad but sometimes just letting your body take care of things and riding it out is the best thing to do...

I wish you the best getting off Paxil...SSRI's have always thrown me for a loop anytime i adjust or eliminate them...so i feel your pain.

Peace
