In reply to Lamcital - how does it work for you?, posted by rjlockhart04-08 on January 30, 2010, at 3:58:43
I had an extremely unpleasant reaction to Lamictal. I started at 25mg for a month at which time my doctor raised my dose to 50mg. Within two days I began getting sore spots on my tongue and in my throat; 48 hours later I had swollen spots all over my mouth and throat, a thick white coating on my tongue and open sores on the inside of both cheeks at the gum line. I couldn't eat, toothpaste felt like habanero sauce and it took forever to clear up - at least two weeks. It was extremely painful and very surprising because normally I metabolize drugs quickly and need higher doses.
