I suffer from depression and ADD and I would say that the Methylphenidate definitely helps the depression a little bit and certainly helps focus. I'm a recovering addict and cocaine was a big part of my repertoire. But I have 17 years clean and I've been taking stimulants for ADD for the last 5. I'm not going to say the mild boost has never had a little bit of a pull, but I've never taken more than directed. Dopamine is directly related to motivation and I do think that lack of motivation is a part of ADD.

So in short, yes, I do think there is some crossover in feeling good and focus. As long as it's being monitored, I think people should be allowed to find what works best, be it sustained or immediate release.
