Couldn't that, as well as it's anti-inflammatory action also possibly contribute to it's AD effects, depending on the cause of one's depression? Seems like the stuff could be helpful on many levels.
And yeah, I've read about turmeric too (heard about it here first, in fact). Guess I need to increase my curry consumption as well!
