Me neither. I wasn't sure how to address your question. NAC makes sense to try. If it doesn't make you feel worse, you might want to stay on it long-term while you try other things. It acts as a potent antioxidant (neuroprotective) via glutathione production.
Please keep us updated. I might add NAC in the near future. I want to explore Effexor first.
