Quitting Celexa...when will I lose the weight?

Posted by cgd092 on December 20, 2009, at 20:55:58

My depression/anxiety thing started about 7 years ago. Since then, tried a number of different meds. Finally got settled on Celexa, for a few years. Recently discovered Lamictal. This mood stabilizer is great for me, and my pdoc thinks that eventually I can wean off the Celexa. She already has me down to 10mg/day. And on 200mg/day of Lamictal. Before the 7 years ago thing started, I was 125lbs. Now I'm 150lbs. Will being off the Celexa altogether cause some weight loss? I would be staying on the Lamictal. When I asked about this to my pdoc a few visits back, she goes, "Oh, you'll lose the weight." Indicating that when she weans me off the Celexa, the weight will just come off. Anyone with an experience of weight just going away after stopping a drug? I think I'll probably have to work a little harder than that!
