Hi gang,
my GP's office are offering these tests, which are covered by insurance. They (claim to?) measure all the major neurotransmitters - serotonin, dopamine, noradrenaline and others. This all sounds fine and innocent enough, it could be really useful to know what meds and dosages you should be aiming for to raise/lower neurotransmitter levels. Of course, this is is you buy into the idea that 'levels' of neurotransmitters is the be-all and end-all of mental illnesses.
However, checking out the website it's clear that they want to make more than just the test price ($370). They sell precursor products TravaCor, Tyrosine Spray, AdreCor and others which they claim will aid production of said transmitters. See the 'Sample Report' link on this page https://www.neurorelief.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=402.
Suddenly it all looks rather dubious. But perhaps I'm just being sceptical. Anyone knowledgeable about these precursor products care to comment?
Pete
