I once tried Aricept (donepezil) to treat bipolar depression. It did nothing. A friend of mine took it for awhile, thinking that it might offset the decline in memory that her depression caused. She remained on it for two years. It didn't help her depression at all, and she stopped taking it. In retrospect, she is not sure that it helped with memory either.
