In reply to Selenium as Migraine Prophylactic, posted by fattoush on December 1, 2009, at 12:48:32
> This is a Calcium Channel Blocker similar to Verapamil, not available in the US. I'm in Lebanon now and can get it. A neuro prescribed it as a prophy for my migraines after I said I was bipolar II. He got concerned about Topamax. For cause too, I can hardly handle more than 25 mgs of Topamax without crying all the time. At 75 mgs, I'm suicidal. Inderal also had made me depressed but in a slower more insiduous way, as if choking me slowly. Is Selenium going to depresse me?

> Okay.... I know the tricyclics, eat and sleep like the romans, and Depakote, lose your hair while you eat and sleep too.Oh, no, I'm not suicidal. Thank you for your concern I was talking about how I get so depressed whenever I take any migraine prophy that works for me like Inderal or Topamax. I was afraid to start on this new one. It's not a supplement. It's a calcium channel blocker, flunozine or something like that, I found it on Rxlist. I haven't dared start because one of its side effects is depression.
Thanks, dear.
