In reply to Has anyone used 5 mg of Lexapro instead of 10 mg?, posted by Joe Crenshaw on November 27, 2009, at 15:33:56
I found no difference between 5mg and 10mg, except lower side effects at 5mg, so I stayed at 5mg.
One of my doctors prescribes Lexapro in liquid form because he has some patients in remission on just a drop (about 1/8th mg), and others on 1mg to 5mg. The trick he says is twofold:
1. Frequency...despite the halflife, it needs to be dosed about every 6 hours.
2. Time...it needs longer than the clinical trials to fully work.
