I have had a disorder called Trichotillomania for about 15 years...and have tried numerous medications, nothing seemed to help the symptoms...I was diagnosed with ADHD about 4 years ago, I had recently been in the hospital for Endocarditis, (a heart infection.) While in the hospital they put me on a very strong pain medication, after leaving the Hospital they gave me a prescription for Oxycodone 10mg three time a day...to help with the pain and to ween me off all the drugs they had given me during my stay, I started seeing a Phsychiatrist while I was taking the Oxycodone, we noticed that the pain medication, instead of really relieving the pain, was showing huge signs of reducing ADHD symptoms...My councelor and I decided that we wold try Oxycodone 5mg three times a day, since it was helping so much with my symptoms...sure enough, I was pretty much symptom-free while taking this medication...I can focus much more, and complete tasks I would normally put off until a later date...which turned into never...I also found dealing with the Trichotillomania a lot easier due to the fact I wasn't sitting around thinking about it all the time....has anyone else had the same reaction to this medication? It is very rare and hard to convince people that it works....
