I'm considering asking the doc if i could try this for depression/akathasia. Its only from reading this board that i realise that rather than being just extreme inner restlessness what i think i have is akithasia.
I don't know how i've gradually developed this over the past 12 months....smoking cesation, scopolamine withdrawal, amisulpride withdraweal (after days use?!) or maybe even previous regular use of Ketamine (it up regulates acetylcholine receptors accoprding to the literature). I've also been taking seroquel 3 x 25mg at night for about 18 months, before reading this board's archive i thought it was preety innocuous.
Anyways, my doc perescribed me 2 x 40mg prorpranolol yesterday and i dont feel anywhere near as agitated but i wouldn't say i was better (i feel exhausted).
I'm somewhat doubtful that on the NHS doctors would prescribe congentin, but its worth a shout, and if not i will try for an anti-cholinergic AD as i seem to respond to anti-cholinergics? Just wondering if anyone has a long term response to congentin, as i fear it may even make my symptoms worse?
many thanks
