I had akathesia from perphenazine (and older AP) and benadryl stopped it. It's a cheap, OTC antihistamine. Vigorous exercise also helped, but eventually I went way down of the dose of perphenazine. It was prescribed while I was in the hospital and my p-doc doesn't like it. Too high a risk of tardive diskenesia with these old APs.
