The stigma of mental illness gives that feeling but I am glad that you were able to reach this point.
Whether this was a charity or state or county agency, it doesn't matter, I'm glad there are programs like that out there.
I believe that's one of the things that NAMI advocates for among a number of other ideas.
I've heard of county programs here where, as you noted, if there isn't specific job placement, it is to go through training to speak as an advocate as someone who has gone through or is still facing illness and can also get some monetary benefit by doing this too.
