I'm on Prozac 20 mg, Ritalin LA 10 mg, and Xanax .5 mg daily.
I take Prozac with food at breakfast (7-8 am), Ritalin in mid-morning (11 am), and Xanax at night to sleep. To counteract, the hypertension and tachycardiac effects of Ritalin, I also take Toprol XL, a beta blocker, 25 mg at night. Taking Prozac and Ritalin at the same time is not a good idea. Taking Ritalin and a benzo close in time undercuts Ritalin.
I'm in favor taking long-acting Ritalin if you need it; for me, it's to concentrate and not to get distracted. Otherwise, I'd take it. Cardiac side effects. Insomnia.
