That is a great question. I haven't a clue. With imipramine, desipramine predominates by quite a large margin once steady-state is achieved. However, I believe the metabolic pathways of the two parent drugs are different enough from each other that one could not extrapolate from imipramine the behavior of amitriptyline.One study determined the mean ratio of NT/AMI at steady state to be 0.962. I found it difficult to find anything else as relevant.
