I don't remember where I read this and now I've only been able to find one abstract that mentions it. Because of this, and because ramelteon doesn't list autoimmune conditions as a contraindication, I'm not really worried about this any longer.
Here's the one link that I was able find but I think that the author is just assuming agomelatine will behave like melatonin. (check out the second to last sentence)

I sent an email to Servier to see what they say about it but I'm no longer afraid of trying agomelatine.
